MAKING AN AV IN A DAY
This hands-on approach had been tried by the Waves members many years previously (when we used slides) but in a slightly different format. The August meeting turned out to be an interesting mix of new and experienced members putting their ideas together and making a digital sequence in a day.
The members were divided into four groups, each group having a laptop with PTE, Photoshop and Auditions, 4 sets of photos, some music and access to sound recording equipment.
The four sets of photos were of Lyme Regis, Skye, Trinidad and Tobago and a Random mixture. A maximum of 30 pictures could be used from any of the sets and the sequence could be up to 5 minutes long.
Two of the groups used humour to get across their message and the other two groups used a more straightforward approach. The idea was not to end up with some fabulous AV, but to understand how to put the elements together and to learn from each other. With this in mind, the day was a success and produced several new ideas and tips.
