EASTER AT ST. CUTHBERT'S ~ 2008 by Anne Clouter

The 75th Anniversary of St. Cuthbert's Church, Brislington, Bristol is being celebrated during 2008.

The Church looked so beautiful on the morning of Easter Day prompting me to consider an idea - I could make an Audio Visual Sequence of images taken in and around the Church and link it with archive documents relating to the Consecration of St. Cuthbert's in 1933.

Our Priest-in-Charge, the Rev. Ian Garrett, Organists, Desmond Eastup and Ian Henderson together with congregation members were so enthusiastic, co-operating with photography and recording sessions.
The Sequence provided an opportunity to include images of various aspects of our life at St. Cuthbert's.
The music was specially selected to reflect Easter, opening with Mascagni's, Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana, followed by the hymn, "Alleluia, Alleluia, Hearts to Heaven and Voices Raised".
"An Improvisation" was played by Ian Henderson with the concluding piece being C. M. Vidor's "Toccata from Symphonie V".

The Audio Visual Sequence was presented at the end of the 75th Anniversary Dinner in July and declared a memorable conclusion to a very happy evening.

The Sequence was eventually made into a DVD with the use of PicturesToExe, Video Builder and around forty copies were distributed to church members.
