THE SAGA OF THE S.S.GREAT BRITAIN

I wanted to tell the story of the ship which was built in Bristol, travelled 32 times around the world, ending up in the Falkland Islands where she lay in Sparrow Cove for 84 years.
She was floated back to Bristol, arriving on July 16th 1970, 127 years to the day when she had been launched. This part of the sequence used archive material gathered from the Internet.
My sequence went on to show much of the restored exterior and interior of the ship - which is now an important Maritime Museum. She is moored in the same Dry Dock where she was built in the 1840's.
I needed to pay two visits to obtain my photographs, fortunately once you have paid for a ticket it can be used any time during the following 12 months!
